Kaupapa Whanau Living With Disability

Nau mai, haere mai o waenganui o tatou, te whanau i te kaupapa haua e mahi ana.

The Maori Development Research Centre (MDRC) in association with the Donald Beasley Institute and the Aotearoa Maori Whanau Carers Network welcome your input as part of the kaupapa whanau helping to improve the quality of life for whanau living with disability.

The Ministry of Health and Health Research Council would like your advice on the priorities and directions their research should take to help make our lives healthier. This is a rare opportunity for those directly affected to have a say in shaping government plans.

We will be holding a one-day wananga in twelve regions[1] around the country next February to discuss these weighty but important matters together. Tangata whenua in each region who are members of the kaupapa whanau or the whanau carers network will be our hosts. The articles below are a brief introduction to the plans and prepare us for the discussions at the wananga. The discussions will focus on answering the questions set out in the article below. Feel free to comment or ask us for more information and we will do our best to respond.

If you have not joined the kaupapa whanau yet, please contact us or fill out the form on our website at http://www.mdrc.co.nz/info_page.php?info_id=103 and we will add you to our mailing list.

No reira, te whanau, nga huanga, nga tangata e tu kaha ana i raro i te manaakitanga o Rangi, e takoto humarie ana i waenganui i te tiakitanga o Papatuanuku, e noho pai ana i roto i te aroha o tou whanau, tena koutou, tena koutou, tena koutou katoa.
