This came as a pleasant New Years surprise and we are keen to support this initiative. We have looked through your website and were impressed with the content and layout.

It is great to see the initiative you are taking supporting Maori development and thanks for including Tipu Ake and Kaitiakitanga in your directory.   As a pakeha in a very privileged position I personally am particularly interested to see any initiative that looks at research from a Maori World view perspective, rather than just research about Maori or research by Maori using conventional mainstream / academic conventions - that way I believe Maori can offer something radically different that honours all and makes a significant contribution to world thinking.

I have copied this to Andree Mathieu a researcher and writer  from Quebec who is helping draw the attention of the international sustainability movement to the philosophy of Kaitiakitanga, the positive responsibilities it implies and the tools it offers.  She has translated Tipu Ake into French and last  year visited and wrote about Kaitiakitanga in French on the l'Agora on line French encyclopaedia - in

English at http://www.kaitiakitanga.net/stories/origins%20research.htm. She returns for Feb- April this year and may well like to make contact with you.  In any case I am sure she will appreciate your index to resources
